Patrons can check in/out by campus e-cards at the circulation counter on the 1st floor in the library on the north campus or on the 1st floor on the south campus. Besides library staff services, we provide self check-in/out services. Patrons can self check in/out by self-check-in/out systems.
Mind you! Patrons have to follow the library regulations, and they are not allowed to take books, which have not been loaned, out of the library.
The Quotas and Loan Periods of GDUFS Library
Different kinds of patrons have different loan quotas. “The Quotas and Loan Periods of GDUFS Library” lists the loan quotas of all patrons.
Books which are just returned should not be immediately borrowed by the same patron. Those books can be borrowed in 6 hours by the same patron.
Renewals
Patrons can renew books through OPAC by themselves if they want to keep the books for a longer time. The period is 15 days from the date of renewal. The books which are overdue or reserved cannot be renewed.
Holds
Patrons can reserve books if all the copies have been borrowed. Patrons can complete the process of reservations by OPAC, and have to follow “the Quotas and Loan Periods of GDUFS Library”. The library staff will inform patrons of the arrivals of reserved books by mails. Patrons should fetch the reserved books at circulation counters within five weekdays. Patrons’ reservation rights will be cancelled if he/she has not fetched reserved books on time for three times.
Inter-Campus Check-In/Out
The circulation department provides a service of inter-campus check-in/out. Patrons can fill in an entrustment form at circulation counters. The library staff will inform patrons of the arrivals of entrusted books by mails. Patrons should fetch entrusted books at the circulation counter within five weekdays. Patrons have no rights to enjoy the service of inter-campus check-in/out if he/she has not fetched entrusted books on time for three times.
Delayed Check-out Service
Books, which are overdue in the summer/winter vacations, can be checked out within 14 days from the date of a new semester. Patrons cannot borrow books until they returned those books. The library usually lists overdue notices on the electronic screen in the first/last week of a semester. The library also sends overdue reminders to patrons if they have filled in their email addresses in OPAC.
Overdue Fines
All loaned books should be returned on time. Patrons should be fined if books are overdue. The fine is 0.1 yuan per book per day.
Fines for Stained Books
Before they borrow books, patrons have to check the books whether they have been stained, for example, marked, water-logged, broken. Otherwise, patron will be fined as they return the books as the library staff finds the stained point(s).
