The main circulation area and the reading area open from 8:30 am to 10:00 pm, amounting to 13.5 hours every day. The areas provide services up to 95 hours per week. With any questions, please consult the library staff at the reception desk.
The Circulation Department
Functional Areas: Chinese Collections, Foreign Languages Collections, Non-circulating Storage, Liberal Reading Platform, Faculty Study Area
Services: receptions, book check-ins/outs, renewals, book reservations, inter-campus check-ins/outs, overdue reminders and fines, customized search, new book promotions, reading needs and tendency analysis, literature recommendations, and photocopying, etc.
The department also provides some special services as follow:
Interlibrary Loan of the Consortium of University Libraries in Guangzhou: The staff and students of GDUFS can apply for interlibrary cards and enjoy the resources of 12 university libraries in Guangzhou.
Interlibrary Loan in Guangzhou Higher Education Mega Center：The staff and students of GDUFS can enjoy the resources of all university libraries in Guangzhou Higher Education Mega Center through the interlibrary loan.
Self-Check In/Out：In addition to staff services, patrons can self check in/out by self-check-in/out systems in the both libraries.
Customized Check-in/out Service：The staff helps full professors of GDUFS checking in/out books during his/her absence in the libraries.
The Reading Services Department
Functional Areas: a current newspaper reading area, a current periodicals reading area, a back issue reading area, an area for theses and dissertations of GDUFS, the reference book collections, the Collection of GDUFS Teacher Publications Room, the Reading Room of the National Research Center for Linguistics and Applied Linguistics (CLAL).
Services: Reading of newspapers, periodicals, magazines, theses and dissertations, and reference books; a self-service machine for copying, printing and scanning documents.

Services: Technical Support, Interlibrary Loan, Thesis and Dissertation Collection, Management of CDs attached to Books
Information Consultation and Promotion Department
